El verbo 'to think' es uno de esos verbos cuyo significado va estrechamente unido a la preposición que lo acompañe:
- En una frase afirmativa, 'think of' quiere decir 'pensar' con el sentido de recordar:
I can't think of her name. - No puedo recordar su nombre.
Sin embargo, dentro de una pregunta, significa 'qué opinas de...':
What do you think of the new theater?- ¿Qué opinas del nuevo teatro?
- 'Think about' quiere decir 'pensar en' con el sentido de 'deliberar' o 'dar vueltas a un tema':
I'm thinking about going by car. - Estoy pensando en ir en coche.
- Hay un verbo que tiene connotaciones similares,' to plan' que quiere decir 'pensar hacer'. Sin embargo, si se emplea este verbo no significa que estás deliberando, como ocurre con 'think about', sino que ya tienes planeado hacer algo concreto:
I plan to take them to the museum. - Pienso llevarles al museo.

| 5. ¿Qué opinan de la nueva moqueta? | 5. What do they think of the new carpet? |
| 6. Me lo estoy pensando. | 6. I'm thinking about it. |
| 7. Pensamos alquilar un chalet en la costa este verano. | 7. We plan to rent a house on the coast this summer. |
| 8. Pensaba mucho en ti. (él). | 8. He thought of you a lot. |
| 9. Debo mucho dinero a mis padres. | 9. I owe my parents a lot of money. |
| 10. Pensamos inaugurar la nueva ala en primavera. | 10. We plan to unveil the new wing in spring. |
| 11. Pensamos reformar la casa. | 11. We plan to remodel the house. |
| 12. Ni se te ocurra decírselo. | 12. Don't even think about telling them. |
| 13. ¿Qué opinaban del musical? | 13. What did they think of the musical? |
