En este segundo capítulo de la sección Viajes de negocios, os mostramos algunas de las frases más comunes que deben usarse para hacer una reserva de una habitación enun hotel. Escucha atentamente mientras lees el diálogo.

HOTEL: Good morning, Garden Hotel, how can I help you?

ASSISTANT: Yes, this is Colberto Precio from Frepypsa. We are sending a group to your city for a convention and we need to reserve some rooms. 1

HOTEL: How many rooms would you like, sir?

ASSISTANT: I need 10 rooms for the week of the 4th to the 11th.

HOTEL: Doubles?

ASSISTANT: No, singles.

HOTEL: Under what name should I make the reservation?

ASSISTANT: Before we proceed, I have a few questions for you.

HOTEL: Go ahead.

ASSISTANT: Does your hotel have wi-fi access? 2

HOTEL: Yes, in the lobby and in all of the rooms.

ASSISTANT: The convention is at the convention centre, but we may a need a meeting room at some point. Does your hotel have one?

HOTEL: We have several and you can book them if you decide to reserve a room.

ASSISTANT: Is there an airport shuttle service? We have an early flight on the morning of the11th. 3

HOTEL: Yes, we can arrange for a van to pick you up and to take you to the airport.

ASSISTANT: Is that included in the price of the room?

HOTEL: No, all of these services are extra.

ASSISTANT: Is breakfast included?

HOTEL: Yes, the price of the room includes a continental breakfast.

ASSISTANT: OK, let's go ahead and reserve then.

HOTEL: I'll need a credit card number.

ASSISTANT: I'll give you the company credit card. It's 4-7-7-4, 5-3-8-1, 6-8-9-7

HOTEL: 4-7-7-4, 5-3-8-1, 6-8-9-7? 4

ASSISTANT: That's right.

HOTEL: And the expiration date? 5

ASSISTANT: August 2012

HOTEL: Ok, that's 10 single rooms for the nights of the 5th to the 8th with checkout on the morning of the 9th. Is that correct?

ASSISTANT: No, no, the nights are the 4th to the 11th.

HOTEL: PUT THAT OVER THERE: OK, Mr. Precio, have a nice day and see you on the 5th, er 4th.

1.Brits tend to use the word 'book', whereas Americans tend to say 'reserve' Both are correct.

2.Be sure to pronounce wi-fi correctly. It is not 'wee-fee', but Why-Fai.

3.A shuttle is a vehicle that circulates between nicer or business-oriented hotels and the airport.

4.Like with phone numbers, we give credit card numbers one -by - one instead of in twos.

5.Expiration date is when the credit card is no longer valid. The verb is 'to expire'.
